Hi, and welcome to Paris, Puces. 🇫🇷
If you’d like to stay in the loop, consider subscribing. I share a weekly edit where art, fashion, design and the Puces de Saint-Ouen flea market collide.

📷 After Fashion Week and Art Week, November turns its lens on photography, with PhotoSaintGermain opening a month of exhibitions across the Left Bank, ahead of Paris Photo (12-15 Nov). The *free festival takes over 36 museums, galleries, bookshops, art schools and more unusual Left Bank venues, with this year’s edition exploring the archive as a living thing, in the bicentenary year of photography. Among the highlights: Chloe Sharrock at the Musée de l’Armée, Pierre-Jérôme Jehel inside the moody Maison d’Auguste Comte, Laure Winants at the Musée de Minéralogie, Denise Colomb at Quai de Solférino, filmmaker Park Chan-wook at Galerie VU’ and Rafał Milach at our friends delpire & co. The legendary Hôtel La Louisiane presents Room Service N°5: a group show spread across nine rooms on the third floor, turned into intimate exhibition spaces for photographs and films by nine artists – from Michel Auder to Chantal Akerman – exploring subcultures, clandestine lives and the intimate histories contained within hotel rooms. Don’t miss!

🏔️ A shrine to mountain culture and the great outdoors, the Librairie des Alpes (6 rue de Seine) has just reopened after a refresh under the ownership of the seemingly indefatigable Antoine Ricardou, co-founder of creative studio Saint-Lazare. He takes over from Jean-Louis Vibert-Guigue, son of the shop’s founder. Part bookshop, part gallery, it brings books, art and design into conversation, keeping the mountains within reach – whether as a place to explore, a landscape to dream about or an idea to get lost in.

🌶️ A new residency for November from current Paris pizza darling, Marthe Brejon. Lazaro III takes over L’Impasse (4 Cité Griset, 75011) for a new “collection” devoted to chilli, turning Barjon’s sourdough pizzas into a canvas for lacto-fermented jalapeños and habaneros, nduja di Spilinga, and biquinho-infused honey. (No reservations.)

👜 Fashion veteran Gilles Rosier has opened a first boutique for his accessories line Éternel Parisien, taking over an old bookshop in the Passage Jouffroy, one of the city’s historic covered passages. The collection injects Parisian style and sensibility into leather goods and accessories made in limited runs in France, Spain and Italy.
🚶🏽And finally, to mark the centenary of Jacques Villeglé’s birth, the Musée Carnavalet celebrates the artist who, with a pop art élan, tore posters from the streets of Paris, finding a new visual language in their torn and layered fragments, where the politics and popular culture of the street met the poetry of abstraction. A parallel exhibition Le Flâneur at Vallois gallery explores this relationship between art and urban wandering, tracing how Villeglé turned his walks through Paris into a way of reading and recounting the city.
