MAISON SHIFT – house and home of Switzerland’s slow fashion community – returns to Paris to showcase a curated selection of Swiss designers at the newly renovated Centre culturel suisse during Paris Fashion Week. The exhibition is designed to promote awareness of the diversity and quality of Swiss design while leaving room for exchange around the shared commitment to holistic creation, production and business practices.

The eight participating studios convinced an international jury on the basis of their clear aesthetic identity, the quality of their creations, the importance they placed on implementing sustainable practices, as well as their long-term business model.

The Doing Fashion program at HGK Basel FHNW unfolds as a contemporary, critical exploration and research practice, operating at the interface between analogue and digital design methods. It focuses on the body, its movement and its situatedness in the world. The Basel approach sees Fashion as more than the convergence of design and art: its power lies in the performativity of its design, its creation and shaping, as well as in its presentation.
