Men’s Fashion Week, & the power of art & fermentation … A Week in Paris
Celebrating life in Paris, Paris Makers, and the strange, new, true and beautiful – forever !

👔 Paris Men’s Fashion Week A/W 2026 opens today and runs through Sun, followed immediately by Couture Fashion Week SS26 (26–29 Jan). This season marks the end of an era at Hermès, where Véronique Nichanian presents her final menswear show on Sat after 37 years, ahead of Grace Wales Bonner’s arrival. Though Balenciaga skips Men’s this season, new artistic director Pierpaolo Piccioli revealed his first menswear designs last Thu via the house’s Pre-Fall 26 collection, hinting at a future blending tech-wear and couture. Jacquemus will close the men’s calendar on Sun, returning to the beautiful Picasso Museum. And spilling into Couture, maverick hair artist Charlie Le Mindu returns to the runway on 29 Jan with a new collection about body visibility, Skins Couture.
Full calendar here.

🏋🏽 Man Ray, Object of My Affection is now showing at Saint Laurent Rive Droite, curated, bien sûr, by Anthony Vaccarello, who continues to expand the house’s cultural reach, connecting fashion, design and art. The exhibition highlights Man Ray’s surrealist transformations of everyday objects, from Red Hot Iron (1966) to Boîte à Lettres (1965), blending poetry and wit. Vaccarello also reinterprets Haltères / Square Dumbbells (1930s), turning a tool of effort into a collectible art piece.

🏛️ Multimedia artist Pilar Zeta’s monumental stone sculpture, Mirror Gate II, is unveiled today on the Place du Louvre, a portal bridging ancient architecture and futuristic vision. This Paris iteration evolves from her original work at the Pyramids of Giza, engaging with the Louvre, I. M. Pei’s glass pyramid, and the nearby Luxor obelisk on the Place de la Concorde, employing Egyptian heritage stones – yellow alabaster, red Aswan granite, Breccia Fawakhir – that carry layers of history, memory and meaning.

🍕 Oliver Lomeli of Chambre Noir has just opened Lavatronic at 5 rue de la Grange aux Belles, opposite Ten Belles. Just in time for Fashion Week, the Paris veteran continues his exploration of fermentation with sourdough pizza and natural wines, guided by a philosophy of the organic, natural and handmade, using only seasonal ingredients.

❄️ New show Winterreise at Galerie Miranda explores abstracted landscapes in poetic, experimental photography by Chloe Sells and Chuck Kelton – and, for the first time, introduces a painter, Marian Wijnvoord, in dialogue with their works. The exhibition, titled after Schubert’s 1827 song cycle, evokes journeys through snowy, melancholy landscapes and continues the gallery’s cutting-edge exploration of photography’s limits.

🇨🇭 And finally, the Maison Shift Paris 2026: Call for Projects is now open! The Zurich-based sustainable fashion hub will return to Paris during Women’s Fashion Week in Sep for its 3rd edition, this time at the newly renovated Centre Culturel Suisse, for a five-day pop-up promoting eight Swiss brands across fashion, textile, jewellery and accessories. Applications are open to Swiss designers – selected participants will benefit from exhibition space, showroom exposure, professional sales support, networking, and more.
