Philippe Starck is one of the defining designers of the late twentieth century, a figure whose work helped shape the visual language of the 1980s and beyond. Today, that period has become part of the Puces de Saint-Ouen itself, where dealers such as Remix Gallery specialize in design from the 1980s onwards, an increasingly important part of the market, alongside the antiques on which the Puces built its reputation. Yet Starck’s attachment to the Puces has little to do with collecting.
